The Pittsburgh Pirates’ losing streak is now at three games after dropping their second straight to the Nationals on Saturday night by a final of 6-0.
Saturday’s losing effort comes after a 5-1 loss to the Nationals on Friday. Pitching ace Gerrit Cole made his first start for the Bucs since going on the Disabled List in mid-June. He pitched only four innings, giving up seven hits, five runs, and striking out five.
The Pirates struggled offensively on Saturday, as they only managed six hits and left 15 runners on base.
The Bucs look to avoid the sweep by the Nationals this afternoon in Washington before returning home on Tuesday. You can catch all of today’s action, starting with pregame coverage on WISR 680AM. First pitch is set for 1:35pm.
