The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, losing by a final of 3-2.
The Bucs tied the game up at two in the top of the ninth, but gave up the lead again in the bottom of the ninth. Austin Meadows, who was recently named Rookie of the Month, led the Pirates offensively. He finished with a homerun, his fifth of the season, and an RBI. Jordy Mercer also collected two hits. Chad Kuhl started on the mound for the Pirates, and pitched six innings, and gave up four hits and two runs while striking out five.
