The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 Thursday afternoon and ended their four-game series with the National League Central Division leaders with a split. The Pirates managed only four hits in the game, with Gregory Polanco having two of the four, including his 5th home run of the season. Pirate starter Ivan Nova allowed 11 hits and all four runs. His record fell to 7-5.
The Pirates are now 33-40 overall, and six games behind the Brewers heading into a weekend series with St. Louis. The Cardinals are one game in front of the Bucs. First Pitch tonight is 8:15pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 7:50pm. Jameson Taillon will start for the Pirates. Adam Wainwright goes to the mound for the Cards.
