The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the visiting Milwaukee Brewers in extra innings on Friday night, losing by a final of 7-6.
The Bucs erased a 6-1 deficit with a five run bottom of the 9th to tie the game at six. Highlighting the inning was a three run homer by Josh Bell (his 27th of the season), which was followed by a Jung-Ho Kang home run on the next pitch. Felipe Vasquez took the loss for the Pirates after allowing the go-ahead run in the 10th. Saturday’s win puts the Brewers back into first place by a half game over the Cubs, while the Pirates are now three and a half games out of first.
The Pirates and Brewers will match up again Saturday afternoon at PNC Park. Dario Agrazal will start on the mound for the Bucs, and Adrian Houser is the starter for the Brewers.
