The Atlanta Braves defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 last night in the opening game of a four-game series in Atlanta. Pirates starter Gerrit Cole allowed 10 hits and and five earned runs. Cole was roughed up for two home runs in the fifth inning. His record fell to 2-5. One of the home runs was a two-run shot by former Slippery Rock University stand-out Matt Adams, who was acquired over the weekend from St. Louis.
The Bucs and Braves meet again tonight at 7:35pm. Tyler Glasnow will start for the Pirates. R.A. Dickey will start for the Braves
