The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the Cincinnati Reds on the road Saturday night by a final of 4-3.
Gerrit Cole started on the mound for the Bucs, and pitched for five innings. The loss was Cole’s third against the Reds alone this season. He is 14-2 against all other teams he pitched against this year.
The Pirates’ offense did manage eight hits in the game, including a Jung Ho Kang solo shot in the fourth. The Buccos also managed a run in the ninth, in addition to loading the bases soon after, but could not capitalize any further.
