The Pittsburgh Pirates completed a three-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks after an 8-3 victory Thursday afternoon at PNC Park. Gerrit Cole was not the winning pitcher, but aided the winning cause with a three-run home run in the second inning. The Bucs won their fourth game in a row, and completed a 10-game homestand with eight wins. Jung Ho Kang had three hits and drove in two runs.
The Pirates visit the Texas Rangers beginning tonight. Game time is 8:05pm. Hear the game on WISR 680am beginning at 7:40pm. Jon Niese (4-2) will start for the Pirates. Cole Hamels (5-0) for the Rangers.
