The Pittsburgh Pirates pulled out a come-from-behind victory over the Chicago Cubs 4-3 last night at PNC Park. It was the Pirates fourth win in a row. David Freese drove in the winning run in the eighth inning. Steven Brault made his first start of the season for the Bucs, allowing three runs on eights hits over five innings. He walked two and did not strike out a batter. Brault was the International League pitcher of the year this season. He had a 1.94 ERA with the Pirates Triple-A club, Indianapolis.
Jordan Luplow hit his second home run of the season with the Pirates. Andrew McCutchen and Freese had two hits each.
The Bucs and Cubs play again tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:40pm.
The Pirates have 23 games remaining and are 8-1/2 games behind the Cubs. They are seven back in the Wild Card.
