The Pittsburgh Pirates took an early lead on the New York Yankees Friday night at PNC Park and went on to win 6-3.
Jordy Mercer got things going with a lead off home run in the first and a two run homer in the second inning by Josh bell to give the bucs a 4-0 lead. Right fielder Jose Osuna got hit first big league hit with a triple. The pirates tacked on two more runs and Tony Watson got the save.
Jameson Taillon will get the start today for game two of the three game series. Game time is 4:05 p.m. Pregame on WISR 680 am begins at 3:40.
