The Pittsburgh Pirates won a thrilling extra innings affair with the St. Louis Cardinals last night by a final of 6-5.
Last night’s 14 inning game lasted for over five hours, and saw a combined 15 pitchers take the mound for both teams.
Pirates’ Starting Pitcher AJ Burnett got the offense rolling in the bottom of the 5th, when he hit a one-run homer to left field.
However, the late game heroics of superstar Andrew McCutchen won the Pirates the game. He extended his 18 game hitting streak with the walk-off two run homer.
The Pirates will wrap up their four game series against the Cardinals tonight at PNC Park. That first pitch will be at 8:05pm. You can catch all of the action, starting with pregame coverage on WISR 680AM.
