Due to a miscalculation, the county will spend an additional $18,000 to replace steam vent lines at the Butler County Prison.
Director of county facilities and operations John Campbell said $30,000 has already been spent on pipe to replace the rotting lines in the boiler room but more is needed to finish the job.
The county will buy the additional pipe from the same distributor who supplied them with the original batch. Campbell says the company will honor the original price.
The county prison sits on South Washington Street.
