The Butler Area School District is now contemplating legal action after the PIAA denied its appeal to play in the postseason for District 10 in football.
The PIAA ruled unanimously that they would uphold the WPIAL’s decision to ban Butler from playing in the playoffs in District 10.
Butler administrators told the PIAA that the move to District 10 was made in order to reboot their football program that had seen numbers reach extremely low levels.
The PIAA said that it opposed teams fleeing districts to join another in select sports.
