The Mars Girls Soccer team will open the PIAA tournament tonight against Mercyhurst Prep. The game will be played North Allgheny high school beginning at 6:15pm. The Planets won the WPIAL championship over the weekend.
The Mars Boys were the WPIAL runner-up after they fell in the title game 3-2 to South Fayette in Overtime. They will meet Bradford in the PIAA opening round tonight at Dubois high school. The match begins at 7pm.
The Karns City Girls soccer team, the District 9 champions, will face Shady Side Academy in the Single-A first round tonight. The game will be played at Clarion University beginning at 5;30pm. The Karns City Boys will face Sewickley Academy at 7:30pm following the Girls game.
The Seneca Valley Girls will open the Triple-A playoffs against Norwin tonight. The game will be played at North Allegheny high school beginning at 6pm.
The Seneca Valley Boys will travel to Mansion Park in Altoona to face State College tonight at 7pm.
The Freeport Girls Volleyball team defeated West Shamokin 3-1 to win the WPIAL Double-A championship Saturday. Zoe Pawlak recorded 32 kills as the Yellow Jackets won their second title in the past three seasons.
Freeport will open the first round of the PIAA tournament tonight against North East at Seneca Valley high school. The match will be begin at 6pm.
The Butler Middle School Hockey team defeated Mt. Lebanon 10-3 Sunday night. Jerome Oliver netted five goals in the game for Butler. Troy Gilliland had two goals and four points. Bryce Rearick stopped 12 shots in goal. Butler will face Quaker Valley Friday.
