A Philadelphia man is facing charges in Butler after fleeing the scene of a hit and run that took place in early August in Harmony.
Police have charged 35-year-old Mouchekh Bedhoian for the hit and run of a child that took place on August 7 on Highland Avenue and North Pittsburgh Street in Harmony.
A child who was on scene with the victim witness the accident and told police that the children looked both ways before crossing the intersection. While crossing the children say a white sedan came “flying” up the hill and hit the victim. After the collision the car slowed down but didn’t stop and then sped off.
When the investigation began cameras located at the Zelienople Park were able to spot the vehicle right after the accident and identify the vehicle. When the vehicle was traced it was found to be a rented car by a Meteor Education which had been hired by Seneca Valley School District.
The district gave police the contact of Bedhoian, who was in Butler working for Meteor Education. Police then called asking Bedhoian to appear in Butler for an interview but was now in Philadelphia. Bedhoian requested all evidence and then ended the call.
Bedhoian is facing several charges including careless driving and failure to stop, give information, and render aid. He will have a preliminary hearing on October 2.
