Golf is the first professional sport to announce an official return to play – that is not a virtual experience.
The PGA Tour revealed plans Thursday for a return to play without fans by the second week of June. The first tournament will be the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas beginning June 11th. Their plans would include a tournament each week through December 6th – with the exception of Thanksgiving weekend.
Their invitation-based events will have expanded fields to 144 players – including the Colonial, Hilton Head and Memorial with Jack Nicklaus as host which will take the place of the canceled British Open beginning July 16th.
