Pet owners in Ohio are facing charges after their dog was found “frozen to death” in its outdoor dog house.
The incident happened in Butler County, Ohio. A dog warden was sent to a home on Wednesday for a welfare check on a family dog. When the warden arrived, he found the dog frozen in a dog house that had no insulation.
The dog’s owners will be charged with cruelty to a companion animal.
A new Pennsylvania law passed last year prohibits pets from being tied outdoors for more than 30 minutes when the temperature outside is below freezing or above 90 degrees.
