The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Nashville Predators 2-0 last night to win their second consecutive Stanley Cup and fifth in franchise history. Patric Hornqvist scored the game-winner with 90 seconds remaining in regulation. Carl Hagelin scored an empty-net goal to clinch the victory. Penguins goaltender Matt Murray stopped all 27 Nashville shots for his second consecutive shut-out.
Sidney Crosby earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row.
