The Pittsburgh Penguins opened their preseason with a 1-0 shoot-out victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Beau Bennett won the game with the only shoot-out goal. Goaltender Jeff Zatkoff did not allow a goal over the first two periods. Tristan Jarry stopped the seven shots on goal in the final period and the overtime. Jarry also shut the Blue Jackets down on three shoot-out attempts. The Pens open their home schedule tonight with an exhibition game against Carolina at the Consol Energy Center.
