The Pittsburgh Penguins won their first game of the season with a 2-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators last night at the Consol Energy Center. Evgeni Malkin scored the Pens opening goal. Rookie Daniel Sprong scored his first NHL, both Penguins goals coming early in the second period. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 22 shots by Ottawa for the shut-out. The Pens host the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night.
