The Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals begin Round Two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:30pm. Evgeni Malkin and Carl Hagelin will not play in tonight’s game, although Malkin did travel with the team to Washington.
This is the third year in a row the two teams have met in the playoffs. In the five times the Pens have won the Stanley Cup, they have faced Washington in the playoffs.
Game two will be in Washington Sunday at 3pm. The series will move to Pittsburgh next Tuesday and Thursday.
Also tonight: Las Vegas will host San Jose in Game One of their Western Conference series.
Last night in the Stanley Cup Playoffs: Boston defeated Toronto 7-4, scoring four goals in the third period to win their series 4-3. The Bruins meet Tampa Bay Saturday.
