The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Dallas Stars 3-1 last night at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens held the Stars to just 18 shots on goal. Patric Hornqvist scored the Pens opening goal, it was his 20th of the season. Defenseman Jamie Oleksiak scored his fifth and Evgeni Malkin scored an empty-net goal late for his 39th of the season.
The win moved the Pens back into first place in the Metropolitan Divison. They lead Washington by one point and Philadelphia by three points. Both the Capitals and Flyers play games tonight.
The Penguins fell 5-2 to Toronto Saturday night. The Pens visit the New York Rangers Wednesday.
