The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New York Islanders 2-1 in a shoot-out Monday. Jake Guentzel scored the game-winning goal. Derrick Brassard scored the only Penguins goal in regulation. Casey DeSmith stopped 25 of 26 shots on goal. Phil Kessel joined Guentzel with a shoot-out goal.
With the victory, the Pens have moved into a third-place tie with the Islanders in the Metropolitan Division. They are five points behind first-place Washington. The Pens visit the Chicago Blackhawks Wednesday for an 8pm face-off.
