The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Washington Capitals 3-2 last night in game one of their second-round Stanley Cup Playoff series. Sidney Crosby scored twice to open the second period, and Nick Bonino scored the game-winner in the third period for the Pens. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 33 of 35 shots from the Capitals.

In the American Hockey League Calder Cup Playoffs–Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defeated Providence 2-1 last night to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five Eastern Conference semi-final series. The Baby Penguins can wrap up the series with a win at home tonight.
