The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New Jersey Devils 2-0 last night at the Consol Energy Center. Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel scored the Penguin goals. Marc Andre Fleury recorded his 42nd career shut-out. He stopped 25 shots on goal. The victory put the Pens in a tie with the Devils for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Pens are off until next Tuesday for the NHL All-Star break. They have 34 games remaining in the regular season.
Former Penguins winger Craig Adams announced his retirement Tuesday. Adams spent seven years with the Penguins, and was a member of the 2009 Stanley Cup championship team.
