The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Ottawa Senators 5-3 last night. The Penguins erased a 3-0 deficit with five unanswered goals to win their seventh game in a row. They have also won 13 of their past 14 games, and have reduced their magic number to have home ice advantate in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs to two. Carl Hagelin scored twice, both goals coming in the third period. Sidney Crosby scored twice, including an empty net goal. He now has 35 goals this season. Nick Bonino had three assists.
The Pens remain three points ahead of the New York Rangers for second place in the Metropolitan Division. The Rangers defeated Tampa Bay 4-3 last night. The Pens visit the Washington Capitals Thursday.
