Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford was named the general manager of the year last night at the annual NHL Awards held in Las Vegas. The 67-year old Rutherford has now led two separate franchises to a Stanley Cup. He was gm for Carolina when they won in 2006.
The NHL also released its First team All-Stars list for the season. Pens captain Sidney Crosby was named to the first team. Defenseman Kris Letang was named to the second team.
