The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Washinston Capitals 3-2 in a shoot-out last night at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens winning their first game of the season after watching the raising of their Stanley Cup banner. Patrick Hornqvist and Evgeni Malkin scored second period goals for the Pens. Malkin, Kris Letang and Phil Kessel scored in the shoot-out for the victory. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 39 shots on goal during the game.
The Pens host the Anaheim Ducks Saturday at 7pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:30pm.
