The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 in a shoot-out Wednesday at the Consol Energy Center. Toronto goaltender Jonathan Bernier stopped 39 shots and shoot-out attempts by Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang to secure the victory. Matt Murray stopped 34 shots for the Pens. Crosby and Chris Kunitz scored the regulation goals for Pittsburgh. The loss was the Penguins first in eight games with the Maple Leafs.
The Pens visit Detroit tonight for a New Years Eve match-up. Face-off is 6pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 5:30pm. The Penguins are 17-15-4 overall, and currently five points out of a playoff spot.
