The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the St. Louis Blues 5-2 last night. It was another failure to win a game on consecutive nights. After winning 5-0 against Carolina Sunday, the Pens are now 2-7-1 in games played on back-to-back days. The Pens allowed three third period goals. Back-up goaltender Jeff Zatkoff stopped 20 of 24 shots. Chris Kunitz and Evgeni Malkin scored the Penguins goals. Malkin’s goal in the second period gave the Penguins a 2-1 lead. The Blues then scored four unanswered goals. The Pens host Philadelphia Thursday.
The Pens recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Monday. He did not play last night.
