The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 last night. Evgeni Malkin scored the Pens only goal in the game. Goaltender Marc Andre-Fleury stopped 34 shots on net. The team has struggled this year playing in the second game of back-to-back days this year, winning just one of eight. The Penguins visit the Montreal Canadiens Saturday night as they continue a four-game road trip.
Malkin and Penguins defenseman Kris Letang are the only Penguins named to the NHL All-Star team. Two western Pennsylvania natives became the first ever to be selected to an NHL All-Star game. Brandon Saad of Columbus from Gibsonia and John Gibson of Anaheim from Whitehall were named All-Stars Wednesday.
