The series is tied 1-1. The Pens have gone 0-for-11 on the power play over their past four games, while Washington has killed off 22 consecutive penalties dating back to Game Two of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.
Penguins defenseman Olli Maata leads all defensemen in the playoffs in the “plus-minus” category – with a +9 heading into tonight’s game. Justin Schultz is third with a +7 and Kris Letang is third among defensemen in scoring.
The NHL announced their would not be a disciplinary hearing for Capitals forward Tom Wilson after his shot to Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin, which knocked him out of Game Two. Dumoulin, Carl Hagelin and Evgeni Malkin all practiced with the Pens in Cranberry Township Monday, and will be considered “game-time decisions”.
