The Pittsburgh Penguins host the St. Louis Blues tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is 8pm. Pre-game on WISR is 7:30pm. The Blues defeated the Pens 5-2 last Saturday. The defending Stanley Cup champions lead the Central Division of the Western Conference with 42 points.
The Pens are currently fifth in the Metro Division with 32 points.
Defenseman Justin Schultz has returned to the ice for the first time since being injured November 19th. He is one of six Penguins who have been sidelined with an injury. The latest is Patric Hornqvist, who will join Sidney Crosby, Nick Bjugstad and Brian Dumoulin on “longer-term” injured reserve.
The New Jersey Devils have fired head coach John Hynes. The Devils are off to a 9-13-4 start and are in last place in the Metropolitan Division. Hynes has been with New Jersey for the past four seasons after general manager Ray Shero plucked him from the Penguins minor league affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he had been serving has head coach.
