The Pittsburgh Penguins finalized their roster over the weekend. 41-year old Sergei Gonchar was one of the final cuts. But the Penguins would like to keep him in the organization in some capacity. Second-year defenseman Derrick Pouliot was sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, but the Pens kept 18-year old second-round draft pick Daniel Sprong with the team, and plan on having him start on the third line. The Pens open the season in Dallas Thursday.
