The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the Washington Capitals 3-1 last night at PPG Paints Arena. The victory clinched the Metropolitan Division for the Caps. It was the first loss at home in 11 games for goaltender Matt Murray.
Patric Hornqvist scored the Penguins only goal. It was his 27th of the season. Both teams went 0-for-5 on power plays.
The Pens visit Columbus Thursday, with their final game of the season against Ottawa Friday at home. The Pens lead Columbus and Philadelphia by two points. But both the Blue Jackets and Flyers have three games remaining this week.
