The St. Louis Blues defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4 in overtime last night in the season-opener at PPG Paints Arena. Defensemen Justin Schultz and Olli Maata scored the first Penguins goals of the season. Sidney Crosby and Conor Sheary also scored their first goals. Prior to the game, the Pens were honored as the 2017 Stanley Cup Champions.
The Pens visit Chicago tonight for an 8:30pm face-off. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 8pm. Tonight’s game for the Penguins will be the first of 19 back-to-back games this season, most in the NHL.
