The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Washington Capitals 2-0 last night to win their second round Stanley Cup Playoff Series. The Pens won the best-of-seven series 4-3, and improved to 6-0 all-time in game seven’s on the road. Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all 29 Washington shots for his ninth career post-season shut-out. Bryan Rust scored the game-winning goal, and Patric Hornqvist scored the second Penguins goal. Both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play last night.
The Penguins move on to the Eastern Conference final for the second year in a row. They will host the Ottawa Senators Saturday night at PPG Paints Arena. Game time is 7:15pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:30pm.
