The Pittsburgh Penguins will meet the Washington Capitals in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after the Caps eliminated the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 in overtime last night and win their first round series 4-2. The series will open in Washington Thursday at 7:30pm, with game two set for Saturday at 8pm. The series will move to Pittsburgh for games three and four Monday, May 1st and Wednesday, May 3rd.
Patric Hornqvist has replaced Conor Sheary in the Sidney Crosby line, while Chris Kunitz has returned from an injury and will be ready for the Washington series. Kunitz has not played since suffering an injury March 31st. Defenseman Chris Ruhwedel also returned to practice in Cranberry Township over the weekend.
The Ottawa Senators defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2 in overtime Sunday and also won their series 4-2. They will play the New York Rangers in the second round.
In the Western Conference, St. Louis will meet Nashville. Edmonton will face Anaheim in the second round.
