Pennsylvania’s former Attorney General Kathleen Kane will be sentenced Monday for leaking grand jury documents and lying about it under oath.
She could face as much as 12-24 years in prison for perjury and obstruction.
Kane’s attorney said a prison sentence wouldn’t be necessary because the loss of her position and law career was punishment enough. Her lawyers have called for probation or house arrest and have noted Kane has no prior criminal record and has two teenage sons at home.
Prosecutors say the first-term Democrat disgraced the office and should be incarcerated.
