In the wake of President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey, Pennsylvania senators have had different reactions.
Democratic Senator Bob Casey made national news when he called Trump’s firing of Comey “Nixonian” in reference to the former president.
This is Nixonian. Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein must immediately appoint a special prosecutor to continue the Trump/Russia investigation.

Meanwhile, Republican Senator Pat Toomey called the timing of Comey’s dismissal “unfortunate.” Toomey also said that he has “doubted the ability of Director Comey to lead the FBI for quite some time now.”
Comey was fired Tuesday evening.
