The Pennsylvania Farm Show is nearly underway in Harrisburg and a local lawmaker will be hosting an agriculture event.
This is the 106th year for the show, which highlights different aspects of the agriculture industry in our state. The Pennsylvania Farm Show features over 12,000 exhibits including animal competitions and commercial vendors as well as a listening session hosted by U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
A farm show crowd favorite is also returning in a half-ton butter sculpture to be unveiled today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. by PA Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding. The work of art is sponsored by American Dairy Association North East (ADANE) and crafted from butter donated by Land O’ Lakes in Carlisle, Cumberland County.
On Friday at 11 a.m., the PA Dairymen’s Association will kick off the 2022 Fill A Glass with Hope charitable fresh milk distribution and fundraising campaign with help from PA Dairy Princess Royalty and other honored guests.
The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the nation’s largest indoor agricultural event, featuring 12,000 competitive exhibits, more than 5,200 of which are animal competitions, plus 300 commercial exhibitors. The show runs January 6 – 15. Admission is free and parking is $15 in Farm Show lots. The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center is easily accessible from Interstates 81 and 83.
