The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is encouraging kids to participate in a recognition program by completing a project dealing with litter.
The Litter Hawk Youth Award Program gives kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade a chance to address the theme of “How do you keep Pennsylvania beautiful?”
K through 4 kids should create a poster dealing with that theme while students in grades 5 and 6 can write an essay or create a video.
A first place winner in each grade level will receive a $25 gift card while a runner-up in each grade will receive a $15 gift card. All participants will receive a certificate.
The deadline to enter is January 31st through the Keep PA Beautiful website. Winners will be announced in April around Earth Day.
