The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is making some road improvements in the Slippery Rock area resulting in lane restrictions.
PennDOT has contracted with Shields Asphalt Paving in Valencia to work on Route 108 also known as New Castle Road, Franklin Street, and Franklin Road between Interstate 79 and Route 8 North.
This project includes patching, superpave overlay, drainage, and new guiderail as well as a new turning lane at the intersection with Grove City Road (Route 173).
Single lane restrictions with flaggers controlling traffic will be in place with work expected to wrap up sometime in November. This project is expected to cost over $3 million.
