The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is continuing late-summer road project maintenance work around Butler County this week.
These activities include pipe replacement on Whitestown Road in Butler Township, and bridge deck repair on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.
Patching will be taking place on Route 8 in Penn, Muddy Creek, and Center Townships, while paving work is planned for Hallston and Keister Roads in Clay Township. Slippery Rock and Mercer Townships will be the site of some shoulder stabilization work along Route 8.
Crews will also be shoulder cutting along Centerville Pike and West Liberty Road in Slippery Rock and Brady Townships. Mowing is planned for West Sunbury Road in Marion Township as well as Oneida Valley Road in Concord Township, Chicora Road in Donegal Township, Euclid Road in Clay Township, and Eau Claire Road in Mercer Township.
Finally, a truck is hauling a superload 150 ton piece of equipment from Columbiana, Ohio to Allegheny County beginning at 9 a.m. Monday. This truck is nearly 140 feet long and nearly 28 feet wide. It will use two lanes of Interstate 80 while moving 25 to 30 miles per hour. The route goes through Indiana, Jefferson, Clarion, Butler, Venango, and Mercer Counties.
