PennDOT is reminding people that outdoor advertising signs are not permitted on state highway property.
Officials say state law prohibits certain advertising signage not only on highways, but also right-of-way property.
That includes the shoulder and berms, plus any additional area needed for the highway.
PennDOT says they remove the signs and store them at the nearest district office for 30 days before they are thrown away.
They also remind people that signs may not be attached to light, signal, or utility poles.
