Restrictions are in place on many major highways in Western PA according to PennDOT.
Officials are advising everyone to avoid unnecessary travel if they can as crews continue to treat roads.
All of I-79 and portions of Route 28 are under a Tier 1 restriction, meaning certain vehicles like tractors, RVs, or cars towing cargo are not allowed on the highway. You’re also subject to a maximum of 45 miles per hour.
Meanwhile, PennDOT workers in Butler County are working in 12 hour shifts in order to deal with the wintry weather.
