PennDOT District 10, which includes Butler County, held its annual outreach meeting Thursday, detailing current and upcoming construction projects.
Projects that are still being worked on from last year include the replacement of Scholar’s Run Bridge in Jackson Township, the Cunningham Street Bridge and the Herman Road Bridge, both in Butler City, and the Henricks Road Bridge in Butler & Summit Townships.
Upcoming Butler County projects for this year include:
-Route 308 (West Sunbury Road) Bridge Project in Clay Township (which will begin in June & include a detour)
-A $6 million bridge replacement and paving project on Lindsay Road in Jackson Township (which will begin in April)
-An intersection and traffic signal improvement project on busy Freedom Road in Cranberry Township
-Resurfacing on Route 488 in Muddycreek Township
-The addition of a roundabout at the Cox’s Corner Intersection (Route 228) in Clinton Township. This is a $2.5-$5 million project that will last for two years. It will begin this summer.
Also revealed at Thursday’s meeting, PennDOT’s Butler County Maintenance Manager Bob Skrak will retire in April after 22 years. His replacement has not yet been named.
