Infrastructure in northwestern Pennsylvania is getting a big boost.
PennDOT says the work will cover six counties- Erie, Warren, Forest, Crawford, Mercer and Venango.
During a stop in the area, Governor Tom Wolf said over 90 construction and bridge projects worth $210 million are getting underway.
“Forty bridges will be either replaced, rebuilt or repaired, 183 miles of roadways that will be repaved or improved, and improvements to three interstates,” Wolf said.
One of the interstate improvements includes Interstate 80 from Clintonville to Emlenton.
The governor says it’s all part of an overall $8 billion plan to improve infrastructure in Pennsylvania, which he says is vital to the state’s continued economic progress.
