Penn State head football coach James Franklin is one of three finalists for the Associated Press National Coach of the Year and is also one of nine finalists for the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award. Nick Saban of Alabama and Mike MacIntyre of Colorado are also finalists for the AP award. The winner will be announced this afternoon.Matt Canada has accepted the offensive coordinators job at LSU and will leave Pitt following the Pinstripe Bowl. Canada directed a Panthers offense that averaged more than 42 points per game this season, most in Pitt history.
