The top four teams in the latest College Football Playoff rankings remain unchanged this week. Alabama is still #1, followed by Ohio State and Michigan who play each other in Columbus, Ohio Saturday at noon. Clemson is #4. Washington is fifth followed by Wisconsin. Penn State is up to #7 and are preparing to host Michigan State Saturday at 3:30pm. Pre-game on WBUT 1050am is 2pm. The Nittany Lions need a victory and and Ohio State win over Michigan to play for the Big Ten championship.
The NCAA announced Tuesday that Notre Dame will be forced to vacate 12 of their victories from 2012, when the Fighting Irish went 12-1 and reached the BCS national championship game because of alleged student cheating allegations. Notre Dame will also be forced to vacate nine wins from 2013 as well. 2012 was the first year of head coach Brian Kelly’s tenure.
