The Sugar Bowl was postponed from last night until this afternoon following the New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans. The game features Georgia and Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals. Kick-off is now 4pm today. The game will be televised on ESPN. After opening as an early underdog, Notre Dame is now a one point favorite. The Fighting Irish enter the game 12-1. The Bulldogs are 11-2.
The winner will meet Penn State in the Orange Bowl as part of the national semifinals. Penn State defeated Boise State 31-14 New Year’s Eve in the Fiesta Bowl. The Orange Bowl will be played a week from today at 7:30pm.
On New Year’s Day – Ohio State defeated #1-seeded Oregon 41-21 in the Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes will meet Texas in the Cotton Bowl in the semifinal round after the Longhorns defeated Arizona State 39-31 in double overtime. That game will be played Friday, January 10th at 7:30pm.
